Jonathan Amitrano, partner at Taylor Nelson Amitrano LLP, and Phillip Colasanto at Withers Bergman LLP, are honored to be participating in this year’s California Lawyers Association D.C. Delegation beginning April 30, 2024. As part of the delegation, Jonathan and Phillip will be presenting a paper to various groups in Washington D.C. including the IRS, National Taxpayer Advocate, Treasury Department, Joint Committee on Taxation, Senate Finance Committee, and House Ways and Means Committee. The paper proposes that Congress amend Internal Revenue Code §§ 6320 & 6330 to allow taxpayers who are mailed notices to addresses outside of the United States, an additional 60 days to request a Collection Due Process hearing, and to petition the Tax Court at the conclusion of a Collection Due Process hearing.
